The Goddesses of Story

This week, I launched the next round of the Practical Magic Business Circle. On the 24th of August we will be gathering in a secret FaceBook group for the next 9 weeks to collectively and individually deepen our relationship with our businesses, and we’ll be doing this with a specific focus on STORY. I cannot wait. I’ve asked 4 incredible women to be our circle sister guides, Julie Gibbons, Jen Lemen, Isabel Fatih Abbott and Ronna Detrick, and I’ve recorded two of those conversations already. I just know that you’re going to love them – so incredibly inspiring and interesting.

But not only that…

As always, the Practical Magic Business Circle is a space where we are guided by goddesses, and as our theme is STORY, then these needed to be goddesses of story. The 4 that have stepped forward to meet us in this space are truly very special. Let me tell you a little bit about them….

Cerridwen

Cerridwen is the crone goddess of Wales who birthed the first Welsh bard. She is a shapeshifting goddess of storytelling and storytellers, and she invites us to take responsibility for our own narratives. To be the heroine of our own stories.

She is deeply connected to the rhythms of nature – the seasons, the moon, the tides – and as such, she asks us to take stock of where we are in this moment of our lives. With this recognition comes the wisdom that we are always in the middle of things – in media res. We may experience beginnings and endings, but these are just plot twists as we move throughout the pages that compose our life story. Cerridwen invites us into the alchemical cauldron of our being through the promise of deep transformation. She tells us that the way forward is through story.

Athena

Athena is from the Ancient Greek pantheon and was the goddess who championed heroes by supporting them with the provision of appropriate tools and strategy. It was Athena who led Odysseus home and then facilitated his successful regaining of his throne, thus restoring him to his family.

The absence of her mother is noticeable as she was born from the head of her father, representing her affinity with masculine energy and her ability to use her head to find a way forward. An exceptionally talented weaver of tapestry, she helps us to perceive both the big picture and the details – the blank canvas and the individual stitches needed to create an intricate image.

Isis

The Ancient Egyptian goddess who was wife to Osiris and mother to Horus holds a safe, sacred space for us to recollect the fragments of our spirit and revive our true selves.

Isis is the goddess who found and re-membered the pieces of the her husband’s murdered body, and reformed the final missing piece from gold, bringing him back to completion. When she steps forwards we know that we are being offered a missing piece of our own self. This month she is giving you an opportunity to discover something about yourself, to integrate some part of you that you have been rejecting or projecting, to reclaim something that has been lost for some time.

Sophia

Sophia is the feminine soul of the Judeo-Christian God, and she invites us to look within for the words of wisdom that we seek. She reminds us that the source of divine knowing lies not outside, but inside us. She tells us that all we need to do to listen to our heart is to get real quiet and connect to that still place within.

We can think of Sophia’s presence as a call to live from our heart, from our soul…

Sophia’s energy is generally very soft, but this softness should not be mistaken for weakness. Her beautiful soft strength supports us as we too embrace softness for its many gifts. We often tend to approach life as an endurance test, without fully recognizing just how challenging we choose to make it for ourselves. Sophia ushers in a personal soft revolution.

So Cerridwen – the goddess of the alchemical cauldron and mother of storytellers, Athena – the goddess who supports and facilitates stories of homecoming, Isis – the goddess who helps us to re-member our stories of wholeness, and Sophia – the goddess who reminds us that the source of our authentic stories comes from within, are our goddess guides showing us how a clear understanding of the stories that are informing our business can revolutionise our experience as artists, as healers, as therapists, as writers, as designers, as teachers etc.

Every 2 weeks we’ll be gathering in a live webinar to explore each of these goddesses in turn. We’ll be diving deeply into each story and feeling into all the ways in which they are guiding us to see our businesses in a new way. Sounds delicious, right?

So, my lovely, if you would like to experience the depth and the wisdom and the beauty of being guided by Cerridwen, Athena, Isis and Sophia as you birth, transform, tend and share your business, your art, your gifts, your soul medicine, then you can claim your space in the circle. And if you do so before the 7th August, you can take advantage of the Early Bird pricing.
