Beautiful Beliefs

Beautiful Beliefs

Our beliefs define who we are and how we choose to show up in the world. When we get really clear on what it is that we believe in, we create containers for our free and full expression. I want to invite you to embrace your beliefs โ€“ to explore them, state them, share them. And so Iโ€™ve created Beautiful Beliefs – a new group writing project that I just know you’re going to love!

Every Wednesday, I will be sharing one of my beliefs and I would love for you to join me in sharing one of yours. At the end of my Beautiful Beliefs post, you will be able to add a link to your own Beautiful Beliefs post, and I would encourage you to go and read each otherโ€™s posts, connect with one another, leave comments, lend support. I get to see just how magical you all are, and Iโ€™d love for you all to see that too.

All you have to do is finish the sentence ‘I believe that…’ And then write a bit about why you believe that? How has that belief developed for you? In what ways does this belief show up in your life?

I can’t wait to read what you choose to share!

You can grab a badge over here, and check back tomorrow for my first Beautiful Beliefs post!

Yay! Thank you, Ronna! I really wanted to create a structure that would foster original blogging that resonated with heart and authenticity. And for me that comes back to exploring the topic of personal belief. Looking forward to sharing the first one tomorrow!

I wrote this for my children a few years ago:

    This I Believe
I believe that we all need to treat each other just a little bit better. I believe in the concept of “paying it forward” and was always inspired by the way in which my mother integrated the concept into her daily life — even before it was a movie or a cool social experiment. I believe that if we could figure out a way to love ourselves a lot more, the world would be a much better place. And I believe that if we could love our spouses and forgive them as easily as we forgive our children, we’d all be a lot happier. I believe in the power of simple things like saying “please” and “thank you” and I believe in the amazing power of forgiveness. On that note, I believe that many of us waste too much time and energy being mad, vengeful and holding grudges. I believe that forgiveness can change your life. I believe, above all else, in the power that each one of us has to make our life exactly what we want it to be and in our ability to make a difference in each others lives by paying attention, being present and never hesitating to help when we think someone needs us.

I believe that you should listen when the universe speaks. It’s currently whispering to me that it’s time to start writing (no more excuses!) and to fully embrace vulnerabilty.

I believe in the power of our beliefs. If we take the time to really examine what we believe we will find that many of them come from childhood domestication and not from a point of conciously choosing what we believe. If we will question our beliefs, we can heal our body, mind and spirit.

“Believe” is one of my three words for 2012, so I was especially delighted to read your post.
I believe that there is magic in each one of us, and when we find the key to open up that treasure, the world will be a better place. The key may come in a flash or over many years. It may be a person or an event or a story. We just have to be ready to open.

    I believe in Angels!

I am on a wonderful journey this year of self-discovery, full of twists and turns but I DO see the light at the end of the tunnel. There will be trials and tribulations along the way, but I know I’m well protected and I’m learning more and more every day, regardless of how subtle.

My EGO kicks in sometimes, and really messes with my mind. However, I know now I have the upper hand and I’ll come through the other side.

I just felt I had to share this on here, so thank you for listening. <3
